Language Arts- 2020-2021

Grade 8

Team 8-1

Welcome to Language Arts- Grade 8- Team 8-1.  I am looking forward to a great year!  Things are quite different than we remember!  Keep in mind, A, B, & C Cohorts will all be working from home as remote learners at some point during the school week. Directions for daily assignments will be accessed through www.schoology.com- student/login. Directions will be in the Daily Learning Plan folder for each day.  You must come to class during your class period, whether you are in school or at home where you will be coming to class via Zoom.

      Core Class schedule: Homeroom (7:15-7:35)

                                            Section 1 -Core 2-( 7:35- 8:35)

                                            Section 2- Core 4- (8:45-9:45)

                                            Section 3 - Core 6-(9:55-10:55)

You will have either language arts, math, social studies or science during the above times.

PLEASE CHECK THE Daily Learning Plan folder for each day. The plan will link you to your ZOOM meeting (even if you are in school).  Each day you will have to report to the Zoom meeting during your class period.  We will meet, I will take attendance, I will provide instruction, you will work independently or through Google Docs, or Slides.  At the end of the hour, we will meet again on Zoom to recap the lesson.

   PARENTS!

Please see below for my policies (Introduction letter, Classroom Rules, Grading Policy, Homework/Classwork Policy & Supply List), that you can go over together. There will be a Google form for you to sign.

We will need to fully cooperate with each other and communicate our needs as we navigate this unique situation together. Wednesday will be our best day to communicate via Schoology chats & Zoom because we will all be working from home.  Stay on top of your work, so you do not get behind.  Good health to you and your family.  Please do your best. See you soon!
